“CD T – THE NEWEST REPLENISHMENT OF A LONG LINE OF THE EXCELLENT CYRUS MODELS. IT IS CD TRANSPORT, BUT NOT THE CD PLAYER; IN OTHER WORDS, HE ONLY READS DATA FROM A DISK, AND EXTERNAL TSAP IS NECESSARY FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF DIGIT-ANALOGUE TRANSFORMATION.”

This is a great example of the fact that digital audio is still evolving, and not only in the computer industry, i.e. in music files playback. The Compact Disc format has a lot to offer, it is easy to use, and the music we bought really belongs to us – the files are “rented” and we cannot legally share them. And the Cyrus transport will offer us a lot of joy and long hours devoted to slow “tasting” of numerous albums.

CD T XR

The CDt-XR is our class leading CD transport, bringing together years of development and building upon the legacy of our multi award winning CD players. Housed within our iconic half-width chassis, listeners of the CDt-XR will notice a dramatic lowering of the noise floor, bringing enhanced clarity and nuanced detail to their cd collection.

CD T XR

Several years ago, Cyrus invested heavily in developing our own in-house CD ‘Servo’ mechanism, our ‘Servo Evolution’. The design principle is to read as much information as possible from the disc itself first time, rather than having to rely on ‘re-reads’ or ‘error-correction’.

Whilst it is true that the data on a CDs is stored in ‘1s and 0s’, the way it is read, using picking up different frequencies of reflected light, has analogue elements to it.  Therefore, precision engineering can improve the performance.  Off-the-shelf mechanisms produce significant ‘system noise’ when the stepper motors of the mechanism are required to be used during the error correction processes when the data was not picked up on the first pass.  Our ‘Servo-Evolution’ system reduces these re-reads and corrections by around 20%, producing not only a cleaner data stream, but significantly less noise.
